PROLOGUE
The book of Wisdom is nowhere to be found among the Hebrews. Whence its very style savours rather of Greek eloquence. The Jews affirm this book to be Philo's. It is accordingly named of Wisdom, because in it the coming of Christ, who is the wisdom of the Father, and his passion, are plainly set forth.
